5th March 2010 will be the 50th Anniversary of the so-called "Aquatic Ape" Controversy 50th Anniversary of Alister Hardy's Brighton Speech which started the whole thing off
It is planned that on the weekend of 5th March 2010 a symposium will be held in the UK (at the Royal Society, where Hardy was a Fellow, or at Oxford, where Hardy was professor for years) to commemorate 50 years of the so-called "aquatic ape hypothesis". The event is still in its planning stages but it is hoped that the event will last 3-4 days over the weekend in question: Friday 5th - 7th March 2010.
