6 ~ The Rise & Fall of the Aquafarians
Stories of our ancestors between 500,000 and 200,000 years ago.
The sixth story in the
River Apes series tells the story of the very first human beings
and how they inherited a powerful combination of features from
their unlikely parents. We learn how they began to use language to communicate and how this ultimately gave them the advantage over both the seasiders and the riversiders. Soon, though, they became a victim of their own success and began fighting each other in terrible wars. The human race almost committed suicide when a young man called Taimat introduced chemical warfare in a kind of pre-historic arms-race. Some good did come out of the fighting though and the Aquafarians rose to overcome their foes. Their beautiful tropical paradise of a home appeared to be the perfect place to live until one day, the very earth shook. |
