The Human Race had already conquered the world, without the need for any major technological advancement.  This penultimate story in the River Apes series follows the lives of some of our relatives who lived through the dawn of civilization and helped to introduce farming.

We follow the lives of several key figures of the Old Testament in Ancient Egypt and Babylon. Then we experience the lives of philosophers in Ancient Greece and legionnaires in the Roman Empire and one in particular, who ends up living in Britain.

We plot the rise of Christianity across Europe and then beyond as new empires rise up from Europe to conquer the new world overseas.  The idea, which started in Judea two thousand years ago had been successfully spread into millions of minds around the world. The name given to such ideas which are spread by human culture is a Meme and this tells the story of those who carried it right up to a man called Charles Darwin, who ultimately rejected it.
